Oxidized brass kitchen. When metal enters daily life and does not go unnoticed
In a contemporary private residence, the kitchen island is not simply a work surface. It is the visual focal point of the living space, the element that defines the character of the environment and sets the aesthetic register of everything around it. For this project, Metalbril produced a custom oxidized brass kitchen island, with a faceted geometry of great sculptural impact and a finish that brings the warmth of raw material into one of the most lived-in spaces of the home.
The project articulates oxidized brass across two distinct finishes that dialogue with each other without ever overlapping: the island countertop carries the O12 Autumn finish, a warm and deep oxidization that evokes the tones of the season, with chromatic variations ranging from burnt gold to amber brown, enhanced by the faceted geometry of the structure that multiplies surfaces and points of light. The rest of the kitchen is clad in wood, which brings visual continuity and order to the whole without competing with the sculptural presence of the island.
Finish used for this project
Oxidized brass is one of the most requested materials in contemporary luxury interior design for its ability to bring warmth, chromatic depth and an organic materiality to high-end residential environments. At Metalbril, every oxidized brass finish is developed on sample and validated before production, with the possibility of selecting and calibrating the exact tone required by the project. The result is unique luxury furniture pieces, designed and produced to measure, from 3D modelling to on-site installation.
