Not a simple custom staircase, but a sculpture that takes centre stage
There are custom staircases that connect two floors. And then there are those that define a space, that become the visual centrepiece of an environment, admired before they are even walked. In a distinctively contemporary setting, burnished brass establishes itself as a bold yet sophisticated scenic presence: an element capable of guiding the flow, capturing the eye, defining the character of the environment and reinforcing a brand’s aesthetic positioning. This staircase is all of that. A fully brass helical metal staircase with oxidized O09 Africa finish, wrapping the space in a continuous sculptural form where load-bearing structure and cladding become a single uninterrupted surface.
This staircase is born from a design and production process entirely managed by Metalbril, from 3D modelling to carpentry processing, from TIG grinding to the final finish, through to on-site installation. The helical geometry of the structure, with no exposed stringers and a handrail integrated into the body of the staircase, required bending and grinding work of great precision to maintain surface continuity across the full height. Oxidized finish O09 Africa completes the work with warm tones ranging from bronze to deep brown, with clouded shading that shifts with the light and makes every section unique.
Finish used for this project
This is a metal staircase where the finish is an integral part of the architectural project. O09 Africa is a controlled oxidization that generates deep, warm tones, with chromatic variations reminiscent of earth and natural materials aged by time. Applied across the entire surface of the staircase, it enhances the continuity of the sculptural form and introduces an organic materiality that contrasts with the geometric precision of the structure. A modern metal staircase where technical expertise and craftsmanship merge into a result of great visual impact.
