Metal welding is the process that underlies everything else. It is the one that cannot be seen in the final result, but that determines the solidity, precision and quality of the entire piece. At Metalbril we carry out TIG and MIG welding on steel, iron, brass and aluminium with a level of care and bead cleanliness that makes the difference on every visible element. We work for interior designers, architects, furnishing designers and general contractors who produce pieces where the metal structure must be as impeccable as the finish: staircases, tables, cladding, doors, lamps, architectural elements and bespoke accessories for showrooms, luxury hotels, private residences, high-end shops and contract spaces in Italy and abroad.

MIG welding

MIG welding is a faster technique, suitable for larger productions and structural elements where mechanical resistance is the priority requirement. It guarantees solid and reliable joints on steel and iron, with a higher production yield that makes it the ideal choice for large-scale contract commissions where quality cannot be sacrificed but production timelines are binding.
In both cases every joint is carried out by qualified welders, with a documented process compliant with EN 1090 certification for steel and aluminium structures.

Two techniques, one design choice

Metal welding is carried out with different techniques depending on the material, thickness and result required by the project.
TIG welding is the most precise and controlled technique. It works with an electric arc and a non-consumable tungsten electrode, allowing the heat transferred to the metal and the cleanliness of the weld bead to be managed with great accuracy. It is the choice for all joints that must be invisible or near-invisible, for visible elements where the aesthetic result is the priority, and for more delicate materials such as brass and aluminium that require precise temperature management. TIG welding is the technique we use for staircases, exposed load-bearing structures, lamps, tables and all those design elements where the joint is part of the aesthetic of the piece.

Burnishing and oxidation

A chemical and thermal process that acts on the surface structure of the metal, generating dark, warm tones and a materiality that no painting can replicate.

It is the process that defines the final visual character of a piece, establishing the relationship between the metal and the light, between the surface and those who observe it.

Steel, iron, brass, aluminium and copper. Welding on every material

Welding of stainless steel requires careful heat management to avoid deformations and chromatic alterations of the surface. We mainly use the TIG technique, which guarantees clean, uniform beads free of visible oxidations. The stainless steel processes we carry out, from welding to finishing, are compliant with EN 1090 certification and documented for every commission. For projects that also require stainless steel brazing, we intervene with the appropriate techniques for the material and specific application.

Copper welding. Controlled heat on a precious metal

Welding of copper requires very precise heat management, because this metal conducts temperature rapidly and tends to oxidize on the surface during processing. The TIG technique, with parameters calibrated to the thickness and type of application, guarantees clean and solid joints on a material that in luxury interior design projects is increasingly prominent for cladding, lamps and high-end furnishing accessories.

Iron welding. The structure that becomes sculpture

Welding of iron is the process that underlies the most imposing pieces we produce: staircases, large-format wall cladding, load-bearing structures and decorative panels where iron must bear both the physical and visual weight of the project. Iron processing at Metalbril starts from welding and arrives at finishing, with a process entirely managed in-house that guarantees coherence between structure and aesthetics.

Brass welding. The invisible joint on the most precious metal

Welding of brass is among the most delicate processes we carry out. Brass is a heat-sensitive metal and tends to oxidize rapidly during welding, making the TIG technique and careful surface preparation indispensable. The result is a joint that disappears into the final finish, leaving burnished, polished or brushed brass all of its visual character without interruptions or imperfections.

Aluminium welding. Lightness without compromising resistance

Welding of aluminium requires specific equipment and dedicated technical expertise, because this metal has a very different thermal behaviour from steel and tends to deform easily under the action of heat. The TIG technique, with parameters calibrated to the type of alloy and the thickness of the material, guarantees solid and clean joints on surfaces that will then receive high-quality finishes, from satin finishing to painting, without the weld leaving any visible trace.

From welding to installed piece. The Metalbril process

Welding is not an isolated phase: it is part of an integrated production process that at Metalbril goes from design with 3D rendering to carpentry processing, from welding to high-quality finishes, through to delivery and on-site installation. Every commission is managed in-house, with a single point of contact for all phases of the process and documented quality control on every joint and every element produced. For projects requiring certified structural elements, every process complies with European standard EN 1090.
