Bespoke metal staircases

From design to production, every staircase is a unique work. Metalbril designs and produces bespoke metal staircases for interior designers, architects and general contractors.

We specialise in the design and production of made to measure staircases. A unique process that transforms an idea into a work.

Designing and producing a made to measure metal staircase requires expertise that spans multiple disciplines: structural engineering, artisanal metalworking, knowledge of surface finishes and the ability to manage on-site installation with the same precision applied throughout production. At Metalbril, all of this happens in-house, through an integrated process that starts from 3D modelling and concludes with the installed and AID-certified staircase.

Helical staircases, spiral staircases, suspended staircases and modern interior staircases in brass, iron, stainless steel, aluminium and copper: every type is designed and produced to measure, with premium metal finishes developed on sample and validated before production. Every project is born from a direct exchange with the designer, for private residences, luxury hotels and high-end contract spaces.

What we do

Project analysis

We listen to the brief, study the space and define with the designer the materials, typology and technical feasibility.

Design

3D modelling, high-resolution rendering and executive drawings to validate every detail before production.

Production

Laser cutting, bending, TIG welding and in-house carpentry with AID-certified quality control on every structural element.

Finishes

Artisanal bespoke sampling: oxidized, burnished, painted or materic, validated under real lighting conditions before production.

Certifications

CE Marking — EN 1090

Metalbril holds CE Marking in accordance with European standard EN 1090 for the execution of steel and aluminium structures and components. Every metal carpentry element we produce complies with the safety and performance requirements of the European market.

AID Certification — Accredia-accredited body

Our factory production control system (FPC) is certified by AID, an Accredia-accredited body and the only national organisation authorised by the Italian State to issue accreditations. Metalbril’s production processes, from welding to finishing, are monitored and compliant with European quality standards.

Types of staircases we produce

Bespoke open-riser metal staircase made by Metalbril in a contemporary interior design space

Open staircases

Open structure without risers, with cantilevered treads or side stringer. Maximum visual lightness and spatial continuity, in iron, stainless steel or brass with custom finishes.

Bespoke cantilevered floating staircase with suspended steps and glass railing by Metalbril

Cantilevered staircases

Treads anchored directly to the wall with no visible structure. The result is a staircase of great visual impact, with a sculptural lightness that only precisely worked metal can guarantee.

Bespoke outdoor spiral metal staircase with white finish made by Metalbril

Outdoor staircases

Designed to withstand weathering, in stainless steel or iron with specific protective treatments. The same artisanal care and attention to detail as our interior staircases.

Bespoke helical metal staircase with burnished brass finish made by Metalbril

Helical staircases

The most scenic typology. The structure wraps around itself with a formal continuity that transforms the staircase into an autonomous architectural element, capable of defining the identity of the entire space.

Frequently asked questions

For any information contact us

What safety regulations must a metal staircase for residential use comply with?

freccia

Staircases must comply with precise regulations regarding dimensions, riser, tread and structural safety, as well as the certifications required by European construction product standards. Metalbril produces every project in full compliance with all requirements.

Which materials do you work with?

freccia

We work metals such as brass, steel, aluminium, iron, copper and stainless steel, but we also finish surfaces such as wood, marble, resin and travertine with high-quality cladding. The raw material is chosen according to the project and enhanced by exclusive finishes, designed to transform surfaces into complex compositions rich in texture and chromatic nuances.

Which metal staircase model combines lightness, strength and style for interiors?

freccia

The choice depends on the available space, the aesthetic and the functional requirements of the environment. Metalbril offers a dedicated consultancy service to identify the most suitable solution for each project.

Do you also handle the design?

freccia

Yes, we follow the entire process, from idea to finished piece. Our highly qualified in-house technical office uses professional software to develop parametric models and ultra-high-resolution 3D renderings. This allows us to offer realistic previews and total control over the final result, supported by precise and accurate quality control.

How long does production take?

freccia

Timelines vary according to the complexity of the project, but we always provide a clear and detailed estimate after technical analysis. Direct control over every phase, from design to delivery, allows us to optimise timelines without sacrificing quality. Thanks to our in-house carpentry and autonomous management of logistics and commissions, every process follows a precise and uninterrupted schedule. We also work on site to coordinate resources and materials, managing assembly directly. The work is delivered finished, in line with the client’s requests and expectations.

What is needed to request a quote?

freccia

To start, a technical drawing, even preliminary, or a sketch is enough, together with indications on materials and quantities required. The more details we are given, the more precise and tailored a quote we can offer. From there, we build the most suitable solution for the project together.

Is sampling free of charge?

freccia

No, samples are chargeable. Every piece is a unique work, hand-finished like a miniature original. Costs vary according to materials, processes and production times, because every test is a genuine bespoke creation.

Can I request a custom finish?

freccia

Absolutely yes. Our finishes are never standard: every surface is treated with refined techniques and a unique artistic touch. From oxidization to acid treatment, from materic to classic textures, we transform every request into a bespoke work, the result of innovative creative processes and authentic craftsmanship.

Do you also carry out complex non-standard work?

freccia

Yes, and that is precisely what sets us apart. We carry out unconventional processes, applying rare techniques and finishes that are difficult to find elsewhere. Our mastery lies in the exception, not the rule.

Metalbril luxury metal finishes and surface treatments

Worked materials

We work iron, stainless steel, copper, brass and aluminium to create high-quality metal finishes. Every raw material undergoes dedicated treatments such as painting, burnishing, polishing and oxidization to transform it into a premium surface, distinctive and recognisable.
