The materic finish is the opposite of industrial perfection
In a world of perfect and uniform surfaces, the materic finish is a counter-current choice. It is the choice of those who want a surface to have history, depth and character. The textured metal finishes we produce bring unrepeatable tonal variations, surfaces that change with the light and an organic materiality that no standardised finish can match. For this reason they are highly sought after by interior designers and architects working in the luxury segment, where the uniqueness of every element is an integral part of the project’s value.
The textured metal finishes we produce
Clouded. The light that varies across the surface
The clouded finish is a textured metal finish that creates tonal variations on the metal surface, with chiaroscuro effects that change with the angle of light and the point of observation. It gives the metal a living and organic appearance, far from the uniform perfection of standard finishes. One of the most distinctive finishes in our repertoire, it is highly valued on stainless steel, brass and aluminium for cladding, decorative panels and high-end furniture accessories where every surface must have a unique identity.
Patinas and aged finishes. Time as a finish
Metal patinas and aged finishes are materic treatments that simulate the natural ageing process of metal, with controlled and repeatable results. Aged-effect painting on iron and brass brings warm tones and an authentic materiality to metal surfaces that tells the story of time passed. Antique brass, with its golden and burnished shades reminiscent of traditionally worked metals, is among the most requested textured metal finishes for high-end furniture accessories, frames and decorative elements.
Brushed metal effect. The directional texture
The brushed metal effect is one of the most versatile and appreciated textured metal finishes in contemporary interior design. It creates a fine and uniform directional texture on the metal surface, capable of distributing light discreetly and adding visual depth without weighing down the environment. Applied to stainless steel, brass, aluminium and iron, with variants ranging from fine and regular brushing to more irregular and materic versions, depending on the aesthetic character required by the project.
Oxide and rust finishes. The material that transforms
Oxide and rust textured metal finishes are among the most sought-after materic effects in luxury interior design. They bring a dense and authentic materiality to metal surfaces, with colours ranging from burnt orange to deep brown, with variations and shading that make every surface unique. These finishes require precise artisanal preparation and an in-depth knowledge of metal behaviour, to achieve controlled and long-lasting results.
Gold and silver finishes. Precious metal on every surface
Gold and silver finishes on metal are textured metal finishes of great aesthetic value, highly appreciated for decorative elements, lamps, frames and high-end furniture accessories. At Metalbril we produce gold and silver finishes with galvanic treatments and special painting that guarantee an authentic and long-lasting result. Highly sought after in luxury interior design projects seeking a precious effect of great visual impact.
Bespoke textured metal finishes. An artisanal process organised industrially
Every textured metal finish we produce is born from a precise and documented sampling process. Before starting production, we develop physical samples on the chosen material, to be assessed under real lighting conditions to validate the texture, tones and final result. Materic finishes, due to their artisanal and variable nature, require a particularly thorough sample validation: every small variation in technique or material can generate very different aesthetic results. For this reason, the exchange with the designer during the sampling phase is a fundamental part of our process.
The textured metal finishes we produce adapt to any application context: wall cladding, tables, staircases, doors, lamps, decorative panels and custom furniture accessories for showrooms, luxury hotels, private residences, high-end retail spaces and contract spaces in Italy and abroad.
